I was hunting near the Neuse River on December 11th in the afternoon. This deer came in with only about 10 minutes of light left. I could here him walking through a slough near my stand and before I knew it he was only 15 yards from me. I took the shot with an 11-87 Remington with 3 inch 00 buck shot. He is a once in a lifetime deer!

I was sitting on my grandparents back porch on November 16,2009 at about 5:00pm. i was hunting the tobacco field to the left. i seen a buck walking up the path but then he went into the woods.at about 5:35pm he walked out into the field. All i seen was a big rack. I shot him at 205yards away with my grandpaws 30-06. he only ran about 3 yards into the woods. he is a 10 pointer/ 18 1/2inches wide.He was my 2nd deer ever killed

I decided to try my luck on Decemeber 31st. I hit the stand and within 20 minutes I noticed this guy standing at 350 yards. I had all confidence in my shooting abilities so I steadied my aim and fired. I saw the buck run off and quickly headed to where I shot him. I found very little sign of him being wounded so I decided to wait until morning (1/1/10) to trail him. I returned the next morning and found little blood. I was able to track him about 500 yards... I was running a few minutes late so i parked at the end of the road, and walked in about a 150yds. Then stopped on a old fence line, and as it got light, i noticed a doe coming up the fence line. About 5 minutes later i thought i seen horns on the back side of a briar thicket, i stood there and about 3 minutes later the deer stepped out at about 85 yrds, it didnt take but a second to realize he was a shooter. My dad killed this deer on 12/5/09 around 5:00 p.m. I watched another buck for about 10 minutes and let him go. I was angry with myself because I let a good buck walk. I then turned to my right and I saw this deer with his head sticking out of a hedgerow. He made two steps into the field and I shot him. He fell right there. The deer scores 139 inches with 14 points, but only 12 were able to be scored.
