An Absolute Pig
I spotted this 10 lb, 11 oz (of which I was unaware weighed this much initially) once I first saw his shadow hanging out just below an overhanging willow tree. It was unusually windy by April standards; however, I prefer a bit of ripple to the water as I have always had better luck. Anyhow, I was fishing a local farm pond and I knew there was a rich supply of crawfish within the water so I tied on a 6 inch, brush-hog (pumpkin-chartreuse, 3/0 Gamakatsu) on a Carolina rig as I didn't want the fish to pick my bait up and spit out upon noticing the weight head (i.e., Texas rig). Long-story short, first cast, first twitch......we have a keeper!
