In South Carolina, fishermen can gig 15 flounder per day, with a maximum of 30 per boat per day, with a 14-inch size minimum.

In South Carolina, flounder cannot be gigged during daylight hours. It is unlawful to gig for sharks, or for red drum and spotted seatrout from December through February. 

No gigging of any saltwater fish during daylight hours from the northern tip of North Island to Magnolia Beach.

In North Carolina, fishermen can gig four flounder per day, with a 15-inch size minimum.

Fishermen cannot gig red drum at any time.
