First peek at newest fishing products
The newest innovations in the fishing world, such as Hobie's eVolve kayak motor, will be on display at the 2011 ICAST show in Las Vegas this week.

Old standbys seem to be aboard every angler’s boat. You know, the Zara Spooks, Bomber crankbaits and Strike King spinner baits. While those lures are consistent money makers, the manufacturers that designed them are always releasing new products. And that’s what’s happening this week in Las Vegas during the ICAST show – the fishing industry has gathered for the coming-out party for the 2011 lines of fishing products.

Businesses from around the world will be showing their newest innovations in hopes of gaining market share in the ever-competitive world of fishing. The Las Vegas Convention Center will be crammed with booths displaying products from such Riverside, Quantum, Shimano, Sebile, Hobie, American Rodsmiths, Berkley and many, many more.

“This show isn’t open to the public, but we are being allowed to for a sneak peek at the latest fishing innovations,” the Sportsman’s Andy Crawford said. “In turn, we’re going to give our users an inside look at one of the largest fishing-retail shows in the world.”

Updates of as many of the most-innovative products will be posted on the dedicated ICAST New Product Showcase each evening.

“We will be adding news releases on many products, along with photos,” Crawford explained. “We’ll also collect and shoot short instructional videos, and add those to the vid gallery on the page.”

The New Product Showcase also includes RSS feeds, making it easy to receive updates whenever new product information is uploaded.

The show begins today (July 14) and runs through Saturday.

“Although the show ends this week, we will be adding product information to the showcase through at least next week,” Crawford said. “There are just too many to upload in a few evenings.

“So be sure to bookmark the page and check back each day.”
