Phoenix 919 offers benefits of larger boats in more-compact package
Larger deck, full range of standard options round out new boat
The Phoenix 919 Pro XP, introduced at the 2014 Bassmaster Classic, offers all the amenities of larger bass boats in a 19-foot package that is more manageable.
Bass boats have gotten longer over the years, and now it seems almost everyone runs a 21-foot boat. However, Phoenix Boats realized that many anglers would like smaller, more manageable fishing platforms — but they didn't want to give up the quality that is now expected.
So they introduced the 919 Pro XP, which offers many of the options as their larger 920 model, at the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.
Bassmaster Elite Series pro Greg Hackney said the new 19-foot, 8-inch boat has the same front deck as the Phoenix 920, which measures 20 1/2 feet. It also comes standard with a complete Lowrance HDS electronics package, a trolling motor and a Mercury outboard.
"All the stuff you normally have to add comes standard," Hackney said.
Other features a 96-inch beam, a 40-gallon fuel tank and a 40-gallon livewell. The boat weighs in at 1,800 pounds, and accommodates a 200- to 225-horsepower motor.
And from the front of the trailer to the rear of the motor, the entire package measures only about 21 1/2 feet.
"So it will fit inside anyone's garage," Hackney said.
The Phoenix 919 Pro XP retails for $48,000.
