Striper Fishing on Lake Hickory in December

The striper bite is still going strong on Hickory. Clients have had good catches of stripers in the 8-15Lb range , and the bite should continue to be great through this month. With temperatures staying in the 70s this week , the water temp. should stay in the ideal range of mid to upper 50s. Most fish are being caught from Rink's Dam area down to the dam. The bigger fish are being caught on large Gizzard shad ( 8-12 inches ) pulled on downriggers 15-25 feet deep , over the main river channel. Lake Rhodhiss is still produceing the bigger fish and most of the fish are being caught on trout . The most productive area has been the flat in front of the waterplant during the evening , and tice this week fish have been surface feeding in the deep water in front of the dam. If your looking for a fun fishing trip and a chance at a trophy give Joe a call. (704)-240-0165 Xtreme Striper Fishing Guide Service
