I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hank Parker last night and I have to say He was one of the nicest & humble man I have ever met. Almost every year a local church in the area puts on a Wildgame Banquet. They also have regular food for you weirdos out there that don't like wild game...lol I'm just joking!! They also do door prices. They usually have a speaker lined up as well and this year it happened to be Hank Parker. I actually saw him and his wife in Lowes and when I asked him about it later He said 'I know how to treat my wife, I took her shopping and got her some duct tape and some powdered graphite' I thought that was pretty good. He also talked about his experience becoming a Christian and man what a powerful testimony. To see who He is today and what he has accomplished after the circumstances He was raised in, is just truly remarkable. I have always had a lot of respect for Hank but I really didn't know anything about him other than He was a World Champion Bass Fisherman and a pretty darn good hunter. It just goes to show you, You never know where someone else has been or things they have gone through.... If you ever get the chance to meet him please do...you will be glad you did. This is not really about fishing but I thought it would be good to share.

    Cool
That's cool that you got to meet him.
I go to a Sportsman Banquet @ a local church here. They had Hank Parker a few years ago - I wasn't able to go but everyone talked about how great of a guy he is. Last year they had Clay Dyer & he is amazing. Look him up if you haven't already seen him becuz I still don't know how he cast a fishin' pole. This year they're supposed to have Jase Robertson (Duck Commander). I have never Duck or Turkey hunted so I don't know him but I'm sure he'll be great.
They usually have their banquet the 1st weekend of August - I'll post the info when it gets closer in case anyone is interested. The also have door prizes - last year they gave away a Lifetime Sportman's License, Muzzleloader, a Bow, a treestand, and several other things.
