thanks

I saw him yesterday morning coming down a ridge but he followed behind a doe and 2 fawns away from me and didnt come near me.he just came in on the 10th according to my camera.I had a nice tall 7 come by my stand last night while waiting for this big buck and was gonna pass but I ended up shooting.it was 15-20 yards broadside so i shot and dropped it.I started to reload my crossbow and he went from being belly down to crawling on and eventually getting up and went back in the woods.I gave it time and just walked over to where i shot.the arrrow stuck in.I saw it hit behind the shoulder but not back in the rib area.I aimed, shot and thought smoked it.It got dark and wanted to give it time so I met up with my buddy this morning after hunting and started trailing blood with no sign of arrow..tracked for 400 yards and then found the arrow covered but no broadhead on the the arrow.after finding the arrow we only found little blood for about 10 more yards then nothing...from there we went back to last blood and started looking in other directions and believe me ive found blood when tracking and lost blood and end up finding the trail and deer 100's yards away even in the dark..I love to track one but let me tell you I saw this arrow hit and saw it drop on spot...we searched all morning and never came up on any other sign.i crawled thru the thickest and seachered..I feel hate this feeling .at least it wasnt this big one in the pick..i do have pic of the one i hit last night.any thoughts

I was wondering how it broke..We found the arrow about 500 yards away from where he hit the ground from a broadside shot.he was hit hard and was only a 15-20 shot for my barnett crossbow from my stand.i saw it drill center behind the shoulder and buried.it wasnt to far back.I let it sit over night.we looked all day and no deer.ive been tore up all day...I cant believe we cant find it.its not the deer in the pic,its a tall mature 7 that just happened to pass by my stand while waiting for the one in the pic..

I hate the feeling of a none recovered deer.I know it happens but it just feels like i been defeated by this deer not just cause it was a nice buck.I played the cards the way they should have been and waited for a nice broadside shot.Since he hasnt been found and i know somehow hes gotta be down in the woods,my next step is to go by the wind and try track by scent and maybe take my buddies bloodhound.it maybe to late for the dog to track.ive never tried it days later.but my efforts have been put in and im not gonna stop looking for the one i drilled..it stopped bleading after i found the arrow covered 500 yards from where he dropped.where the arrow was he either turned right and went down a 30ft drop in the creek and crossed or he continued straight down a main deer trail they travel where i found blood drops about every 20-30 yards..i did go in every direction and never found anymore blood or signs of where he went..
