Here's my opinion: You bloodthirsty, backwards bastards have SIX, count um, SIX other days of the week to go out and kill things. It would not pain you one little bit to NOT kill things on Sunday. Every creature on the face of this earth deserves at least one day of the week to rest and regroup. I can only imagine how a deer or other forest animal must feel. Some stupid yahoo goes into THEIR HOMES (because that is what the woods ARE; THEIR domain, not yours) with the sole objective of murdering them. How horrible it must be for them to never be able to be at rest or at peace; to always be afraid. How would any of YOU like to feel like that, to have to live like that? I know these words will fault on deaf (and dumb) ears, but hunters need to put themselves in an animal's place and show them empathy and compassion. Huntin' ain't cool and it ain't macho. It just shows that you're so afraid of your emotions that you can't think of any better way to let out your anger. REAL men (and women) are kind to animals. What goes around comes around, and, brothers and sisters, one day it's gonna come around on YOU!

I totally agree with you rose! If what goes around comes around then these upcoming years in hunting are going to be a BLAST! I anticipate the day when I see a buck carrying a .270 Remington with human piss on his boots and a orange hat. Literally a frigging BLAST!! At least then It will be self defense! Good Hunting!!

It is truly sad to see how out of touch with reality some people are and how narrow minded some people are....Forget the millions of dollars we pour into conservation and millions of mouths of needy families we can provide for including our own...Not to mention everyone cannot hunt during the week....I sure can't. I leave you with this quote from the CREATOR of all things:

'Genesis 27:3 - Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me [some] venison;' GOD :)

Well....since the dawn of time man has always hunted for his food. I'm pretty sure the cave man hunted every day including Sunday...lol!

As mentioned early it's hunters that contribute close to 90% of the funds that go to conservation, not you (obviously) PETA or your government. There are more deer and big game species roaming this earth than there were 50 years ago....all thanks to the hunter.

The only option to not hunt is to buy meat from a store. Meat in the forms of beef, chicken, turkey etc. that have had beaks cut of, artificially inseminated, kept in confined spaces, injected with growth hormones and antibiotics that the consumer ingest, which I'm sure are the reason for many health issues. GOD didn't intend for this to be the way.....he provided a natural source. Free-ranging deer, Buffalo, Elk etc. These animals live a content life of no fences, beautiful surroundings and the ability to go as they please. When their life ends it is quick and painless. The store bought option lives a pitiful life of abuse and pain. It has been stated that pigs will squeal like crazy pulling into the slaughter yards because they can smell the death. Our game doesn't even know we are there.

Sunday hunting allows an extra day of the week-end for people to get into the woods and hunt for meat and enjoy what GOD gave us, most people work 5 days a week. Oh.....but a lot work 6 days a week.....Sunday hunting gives them ONE day!

So the next time you see a deer in a field or on the trail.....thank a hunter...he paid so you could also enjoy it!

I'm one of the people Viper was speaking of, I work 5 1/2 days a week from 7:30 to 5:30 monday thru friday and 7:30 to noon on saturdays which only gives me a half day to hunt a week. I put in alot of time and effort into that halfday. I would be over joyed to have a extra day to hunt not only to bring home some meat hopefully but also to enjoy gods creation. I believe u have to enjoy gods great creations instead of being couped up just reading the word instead of living his glory.

Unfortunately the Senate has amended the House bill to limit Sunday firearm hunting to after noon only. It's now stuck in committee with neither the Senate nor House moving on this important bill. So Sunday firearm hunting may go unresolved for another year. Let's hope not. Email your House member and encourage them to reject the Senate amendment and pass the bill

I actually have no issue with after noon...I understand not everyone goes to church but I believe you should respect the ones that do. I stay in the country and go to a country church that is surrounded by fields and woods and people do hunt around us including myself. We have outside functions all the time as well as children play areas. We should not have to worry about being outside at Church or listening to gunshots during Church. I understand you have to be a certain distance away but it is not far enough. Again I love hunting as much as anybody but I know there are plenty of idiots around me that hunt that will show no respect....Oh and my only chance to hunt is either the morning or evening on Saturday and a occasional Sunday evening bowhunt. I totally understand working folks wanting additional opportunity and even though it doesn't give you a whole day it does give you additional time...Just my .02 :)

The house and senate Committees have agreed on the Outdoor Heritage bill. The latest version allow Sunday firearm hunting except during 930a-1230p. Guess I'll be taking a long breakfast break. Other restrictions are private land, not within 500yds of a church or residence and certain urban counties restricted.

Thank god you boys are still hanging around here to respond to this although I hope GT DOES delete at some point.. because this jackass is getting off on seeing our reactions to their idiotic post. Good job again though to everyone here who stands up for our rights as sportsmen as well as just people providing high quality nourishment for our families through the tradition of hunting.

By the way, if you haven't already, here's the Facebook page to support the new legislation for Sunday hunting:

I'm just nosing around on the site here. I love the debate. Obviously the person posting did stir things up a bit, but its a good question of which we should all be able to share our opinions about. I like the idea of Sunday hunting.

Well it has been 2 years since I last posted on this forum and I was berated by many of you for my stance against hunting on sundays with firearms. My main concerned centered around hunting close to churches and during church services from 10am to 12:30pm and near any public parks. My opposition was out of respect for the church/religion and for the safety of everyone at these locations. Almost everyone on here was in favor of fulltime hunting on sundays without any restrictions, thankfully a compromise was reached with everyone concerned, we now have firearms hunting on sunday that I'm sure most of us can except and appreciate except for the gameland situation, which will most likely be addressed in the near future. Looking forward to seeing some nice bucks killed this year, it will not be hard to beat last year, it was a terrible year for deer hunting in many areas, everything is looking much better for this season!

I only do it because they keep eating my corn?
or... because I am concerned that if you give them the day off they might get their days mixed up and get killed. Or... No seriously, I liked it like it was before. But then, I only hunt with a bow.
