CHRISTMAS morning Duck Hunt...Pair of Mallards
Well since my Buddy and myself had to do our daily Trap Line check, I suggested we just go early and Duck hunt a few hours before we checked our traps...Action was slow and to be honest we were just acting Silly with Guns propped in corner when I said...Donnie!! Don't move!!!! He said..I see'em!! This pair of Mallards circled the dekes 3 Times getting lower each time and my Buddy said you take the right and I take the left and we counted 1...2...GO!!! and in a instant we grabbed our guns and shot lol and as Luck would have it, The Drake was on the right lol So I have killed 8 Ducks my first duck season and all drakes!!! He said he thought it was me that killed them both but I'm not sure but I defiantly know I got the Mallard drake..I'm glad we decided to take our chances because we think they were getting ready to go...We did see about 9 more but they wouldn't work...Maybe next time.

Today (25th) is Huntman's birthday and he wanted to go hunting this evening and was fortunate enough to double on a couple does. He thought that was a pretty good b-day present. lol I thought, looks like we'll be making some more jerky. lol

congratulations!!! my son loves duck hunting, him and his buddies killed a drake wood duck the other morning and it had a leg band , he came from north dakota. whewwwwww long ways from here.

Great pics!!! glad you had a good Christmas hunt.I finally made it to the river to try the trout fishing .Didn't get no bites but did see three big turkey in the field and 5 deer as I was leaving.Guess I will try my luck at my Dads for a few days.
