When do y'all start shed hunting?

You can find a few here and there now but we find the most toward the end of February.
Oddly enough we were just talking about sheds yesterday and how we always seem to find right side sheds first. Coincidence??? I know that shedding their headgear is in conjunction with the drop of testosterone but I wonder if there have been any studies about one side falling off sooner than the other. We found a small 3pt antler a couple days ago from the right side. Maybe just coincidence but we always seem to find the right side sheds first.

I would build a shed trap and keep it baited if you can...I usually look around fences where they might jump and the sudden jolt will knock them off but really for me, Shed hunting starts for me the opening Day of Turkey Season lol....Good Luck

most of the sheds we find here are mid to late feb. i got lucky and found this big 9pts sheds right beside each other about 2 weeks ago. its the only sheds i have found so far and ive been walking everyday. Put them on an uncle mikes skull. finding a matching set is almost better then getting the deer during the season< mainly because you know hes out there to grow a bigger set next year.

yea i definately got lucky finding that set. and i cant wait for opening morning! ive got 6 big toms picked out for youth day for my son hoping he can get a shot at one with the 20ga this year. there in a field up from the house everyday at 330pm and i got permission to hunt em finally.
