Well, just 53 days and counting before Bow Season begins....but who's counting? I sure am!!!!! I haven't been out scouting very much what little I have done, the deer are locked in their summer patterns and are easy to find early mornings and late afternoons.
Let's see some views from your favorite stand locations! Here is one that I have a lot of success from with easy access. Last.... Read More
I am looking for a lease or club near Hickory, NC for the 2014 whitetail deer season. I am an avid bowhunter and would highly prefer a bow only club or lease if available but interested in anything. I recently moved to NC from GA and would love to have somewhere to hunt close by. I'm only interested in hunting mature bucks and does and prefer a club practicing QDMA standards or.... Read More

This is a video that I shot and edited. Before anyone says anything, I will be the first to say this is not a shot to take unless you are dead confident with your abilities. This is a shot taken and discussed in a few archery circles. This is very educational for beginner archers, because you can see how easy it is to miss this shot. This doe was double lunged and shot through the heart..... Read More
Not a shot I recommend unless you practice it. I\'ve been practicing this 100 yard shot for 3 years now. Some of you members may have seen my video on the new bow strings I put on my 7 year old Hoyt TrykonXL this year. New strings out of the box with very little practice I hit 4 for 4 on a 3-D target at 100 yards. A little more shooting and tweaking of my right left windage and I was.... Read More
Second times a charm....Doe number 3! I sat this bean field the first time a week ago and had a old man on a bicycle ride down the field edge to try to get a closer look at a doe feeding in the beans. He didn't even know I was there, when he stopped 50 feet from me and the doe ran off. I didn't say anything because I know the guy and know he was just trying to enjoy the years he has left..... This is the 8 minute video of Opening Day. Only one deer was harmed in the making of this video (and it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s not on the video) but you can hear it run into the ladder stand. These Rage 2 Blade Chisel Tips were extensively test for impacts with the dirt....lol!
SHAWN STILES HAD A NICE ENDING FOR 2013 SEASON WITH THIS WIDE 8, 20 INCH INSIDE SPREAD WITH 23 1/2 MAIN BEAMS. Well today was opening day of gun season here in the southeast and once again I found myself helping get the population under control on this farm. Wildlife officials say that 50 deer need to go. I've been blessed with 7 of them so far and they won't go to waist, that's for sure.
I shot the first one with the bow and on film for a very good friend that is having some serious medical.... Read More
We went this morning and I handed a parking ticket out to a doe but my son didn't see anything.
I thought it was too hot this afternoon but my son really wanted to go so guess what - we did. Got in the stands @ 4 and about 6:45 he text me that he just shot a doe. I told him to sit tight and I'd come to him when I got down at dark. When I got down I went to the house, got the 4wheeler, and.... Read More
