  • Jon Teague with his 41 lb. Wahoo caught aboard the charter boat RUN-OFF.
Jon Teague caught this 10.69 lb. Sheepshead using a fiddler crab on Friday May 17th near the MHC high rise bridge. It was his first citation fish ever. He followed that up the next day by catching a 41 lb. Wahoo while fishing aboard the RUN-OFF captained by Brian Harrington on Saturday May 18th. What a great weekend with two citation fish!

Hi Folks,
This has been the most unusual early fishing season I personally have experienced in over 16 years of professional fishing. This past weekend saw an explosion of near shore fishing, while inshore fishing with the exception of the river, has slooooooooooooowed way down. Winds have been consistently SW for a good period and have brought good fishing to the area. The SW winds are.... Read More

We've been enjoying some great fishing this week here on the DU! 300 nice trout caught so far with yesterday being the only really windy day. Big thanks to our customers including Gary Hughes & crew, Steve Ller and Abita Lumber. I fished 2 days with Gary Hughes and his friends Steve & Carl. They busted up the trout catching 150 trout and a couple nice reds. LSU,Chicken On A Chain and.... Read More

Inshore Fishing in Northeastern North Carolina
I am considering a long Memorial holiday weekend camping in the Cape Lookout National seashore. I am pretty much self contained, 4x4, firewood, tent and have a lot of experience roughing it in the bush. Wondering if anyone has some pointers about specifically where to go, where to camp, fishing opportunities out there, etc.
Thanks!

Good Week Of Trout Fishing!

We enjoyed another good week of trout fishing but cancelled this mornings trips and may have to do the same tomorrow as the forecast is not looking good. Hopefully we'll get a reprieve from the weather as we have 6 boats schelduled to run tomorrow. As you all know the big numbers of trout will be caught in the outside waters and the winds won't allow us to get to.... Read More

We enjoyed another great trip Monday slamming the yellowmouths. Ron Bartels & Kenny Olivier from Schriever,La along with Clinton Trahan from Sunset,La. joined me on the big fish catching blazer bay. It was a great morning to do the DU as the weather cooperated and the trout were hungry. My crew couldn't have been any better as these guys can fish and our 100 fat trout by 10:00 am proved it!.... Read More

Dularge Report

Great trout action on the DU! Our trout fishing is about as good as it gets. The good news is that the trout have finally shown up at the island and ship shoal platforms. No need to go that far just yet as I've limited out by 10:00 am the past 3 days in the Sister Lake/Lake Mechant area. For you guys in the smaller boats, there are still big numbers of 16-20 inch fish in the.... Read More

Summer has really been showing its face around here lately and with the warm air comes more bait and more means more fish to catch! I’ve seen a big change in water temps in the last few weeks, the waters around Wrightsville Beach are hanging around 65` inshore most days; it will not be long before we are swimming! The warm water has really brought out the bait fish, which is always a good.... Read More

Dularge Trout Fishing

Monday morning trout slam! Steve Coon, his dad Chuck and Travis Callais joined me for a quick trip to bust up some trout. It had been a couple years since Steve's last trip and it was great to have him back slinging in hungry yellowmouths. The crew jumped all over the fish at our second stop with bunker swim baits. Everyone got in on the fun as the trio were hooking up.... Read More

Hi Folks,
Can you believe this wind? Seems like it has been blowing forever. Sea water temp is right at 60 although it is warmer inside, closer to 65+. The 5 day forecast looks like the north winds will go south around Thursday with temps warming back into the 70's. We had a trip Friday just before this front came through and caught a nice mess of black and red drum. The fish are definitely.... Read More

Dularge Trout Fishing

A rough week of fishing as the wind won't give us a break. After slamming the trout on Monday the wind machine kicked up big time Tuesday through today. The good thing is that the trout still continue to bite with over 335 fish caught the past couple of days! The trout are very nice with some good 16-20 in. fish and we're catching some good numbers of redfish and.... Read More

Another great day of fishing 'Down In Dularge'!
Incredible non-stop action on Monday as the yellow-mouths were eating up big time. A very foggy and slick calm morning and once we located the fish it was over quick with 75 18-20 inch fish. We stopped at 75 and could easily have caught our 100 fish limit but we didn't have any more room to put them. Fishing with Tony Fontenot and I were my son.... Read More

April is here; finally some warmer weather, better fishing and the list of fish species starts to really grow the month of April! Now I’ll tell you that there is some very good day’s weather wise in April around Wrightsville Beach, but the wind can really blow sometimes during April. With this said you need to pick your days of fishing and be ready to move your days around sometimes. Fishing.... Read More

I just wanted to let all you fellow fisherman the speckled trout have been biting pretty well up the creeks off the neuse the past couple weeks. I caught a 25 1/2' trout on my second cast this past Sunday, it was 6 lb.'s and had a 13' girth! I took it into sportsman's toy store the next day and did the paperwork for the citation. We also lost another big one at the net and caught many more.... Read More
