Went to Bald Head Island this morning and picked up Mark Siebach, Preston McComas, and Hunter and Nichole Stewart from Apex, NC. We did 1/2 day today after having to cancel our offshore trip due to the approaching storm. Spanish Mackerel was the fish of choice this morning and we were blessed with some very nice fish that we caught off Southport / Oak Island . After....  Read More

Hello everyone! Me and my father have started fishing the surf along sunset beach, and right now we are a few 7 or 8' catfish poles that have spincast reels on them. Stiff as crap but they were free to start off with so I can not complain. I am looking at getting a high end rod for me to fish with, but I really dont know what to get. I have read somewhere that in Myrtle beach if you cast....  Read More

We had three great days fishing on 11/16 -11/18. I caught this nice citation 28' long, 14' girth, 7 lb 8 1/2 oz speckled trout on 11/18, along with a 18.25' puppy drum. Sad part is I lost one close to this size yesterday that Gordon caught and I was the net man, got it in the net, it came out and left the plug in the net. At least Gordon did not kill me for it. Gordon and I have been fishing....  Read More

Big reds were biting Saturday at Yaupon(ar425) reef, and cigar minnows were their favorite bait. This is a 39' caught on a boxed cigar minnow. The fish was returned safely and eagerly to the water, where it swam off with great enthusiasm.

Today's offshore trip was pushed back to another half day on the beach due to the persistent NNE winds we have had lately. Everyone was kept busy this morning as we were catching Spanish Mackerel, Blues, Trout, and through all this we had an epic bite going on from the big Red Drum. Another great day of fishing on the Yeah Right Charter Boat!!! Our group today consisted of....  Read More

Very proud of my father, Bill Kibler of Raleigh, who will turn 85 on Oct. 13. He caught this 36-inch red drum from the pier at the N.C. Baptist Assembly at Caswell on Oak Island on Wednesday in the middle of the northeaster that blew all weekend. Took 20 minutes to deck this red, which hit a 6-inch mullet minnow.

It's been a long time since Dale and Ella Foster from Lexington, NC has been able to come down and fish with us. When I asked Dale what he would like to catch today the subject of flounder came up. Never really caught any flounder he said. And I said well let's see what we can do about that!! Well Dale got his limit of nice flounder and even had a nice Red Drum and some trout....  Read More

Gave the flounder fishing a shot yesterday morning out of the inlet. Ran out to one of the wrecks and tried jigging. A little rough and I was not able to get on the wreck and stay at it. Ran back inside and tried drifting behind Shackelford. Ended up catching 5 flounder of which only one was a keeper at 17 inches. One of the others may have been a keeper, but I had forgotten my measuring....  Read More

  • Even better picture close up with her boyfriend, Hunter Crocker.
Suzanne Baker landed this giant red drum after a 3 1/2 hour battle from shore! It was a slow day of trout fishing on Good Friday for Suzanne and a couple of her friends. All of a sudden Suzanne's reel started screaming after the drum hit a small live mud minnow. She couldn't tighten the drag up any more than it already was without losing the fish. After realizing how large the drum was she....  Read More

Today Thrusday 3/19
Today my Kentucky crew returned for round two after a bad weather trip last year and today they managed to put a serious hurting on the Redfish. Mike, and his crew buckled down from the start and managed to box redfish after redfish. Before you knew it 2 hours had passed and the fish box in the Ranger was bursting at the seams. Grand total for the day was 30 Redfish, 10....  Read More

An unbelievable day of catching reds & trout down in Dularge! Only fished 3 hours catching 58 trout and no less than 80 fat redfish. Keith Millet and Alex Gravois put the hurt on the fish. A slow retrieve along the bottom in 6-8 ft depths with bunker swim baits and chicken on a chain Bayou Chub Minnows did the job. Water temp was 48 degrees and the fish ate up big time with the trout really....  Read More
