This was my first hog, a large boar. I was unaware that we had them on the property I was hunting until my game camera told me otherwise. I was hunting from a stand overlooking a thicket. By the time I saw him and could get my Marlin 30/30 on him, he was at 30 yards. I squeezed the trigger and he never acknowledged that he had been hit. He took off running through the thicket quickly....
This was my first hog hunt, when I killed this big spotted boar. This guy came out and with his buddy to eat some sweet potatoes and ended up spending more time then he should have rooting around the pile. I killed him on January 4th, he weighed around 250lbs, and he produced some of the best tasting bacon I've ever had. He was taken in Four Oaks, NC at TM hunting properties.

When we delivered him to the butcher at 10:30 that night(Pete Gammon at Gammon Meat processor in Mebane) Pete guestimated his weight at 600-700 pounds!!!! I....
