Just some good old boys from Granville county trying to be out in the swamp every day we can during the seasons. 2012-13 was a great year as far as ducks killed, with only two hens killed all year! It was a good feeling to walk out with several drakes almost every morning. Cant beat it. Looking forward for the fall/winter 13-14 season

Man, What a season...This Duck hunting aint bad lol...I wanted to sleep in today so bad but got up anyway because it was the last day and my Buddy had promised to take his Son and nephew so I went also...Went to our normal spot and as you might have guessed...Froze over!! Found my lucky hunting shirt so I had to give it one more shot this afternoon. Most of the area was iced over but found moving water from a small creek. Managed to drop my first NC duck on the last day. A nice drake Woodie. Looking forward to opening day....

Was Hoping to take a Duck with my new Gun Mounted Camera Gizmo I came up with but that's hard to do without a Duck so I guess if nothing Flies tomorrow on the last Day, I'll have to wait and try it out on a Gobbler Strutting in lol but Holly Loved the water but not as much as being back in the warm house lol...You can see I had to break a hole in the ice and was hoping a Duck would want to sit.... Just wanted to share a few pics from this season. I had to travel back to south Louisiana to shoot some ducks this year. I've lived here a few years and am just this season trying to find areas to duck hunt. I'm scouting the local lakes and game lands to try to find a decent spot to take my son. With 2 days left in the season, We are still after them...Seen a TON of Ducks this morning but they wouldn't land on the Icy Pond...I broke a huge hole but by shooting light, It was re-froze so with the Sun thawing it a little, I went back and seen 7 but only a pair of Gadwalls would work and I got 1 of them and yes, It was a Drake lol First year Duck hunting and I've shot 10 Drakes...Had a.... Another great Duck hunt that resulted in not 1 but a Pair of Banded Mallards from Maryland and 1 had $100 reward!!! Not a Bad morning...COLD!!! But a great day. Seen at least 200 Ducks until the Fog lifted and the sky turned Blue then all the action died. Only got 3 Mallards but Having a Great 1st year Duck hunting.

My buddy and I drew permits to hunt at J. Morgan Futch waterfowl impoundment this year. As usual, the weather was bluebird-beautiful-terrible for duck hunting. But we both also drew swan permits and boy, were we glad we applied. Taking down these 2 giant birds was worth the trip. They were the only thing we got to shoot at that day. Well since my Buddy and myself had to do our daily Trap Line check, I suggested we just go early and Duck hunt a few hours before we checked our traps...Action was slow and to be honest we were just acting Silly with Guns propped in corner when I said...Donnie!! Had another great Duck Hunt today with 2 good friends...We Only got 1 Duck today in the Very High Wind and I was the 1 that shot it lol and it's a beautiful Trophy!!!
