We had the 25th Annual Tobacco Bass Invitational tournament at Kerr on Sat. Apr. 5th. We went out of Flemingtown ramp that morning and all anglers checked in at 3pm. Everything went as usual until Michael Hines of Gibsonville and his partner, Roger Mabe of Climax, brought a nice 3.58 lb. smallmouth to the scales. I\'ve been directing tournaments for 30 years now, and I\'ve never.... Read More

Caught this pig of a Bass while fishing with my good buddy Wheaton Lefler. Threw a small crankbait near the bank under an overhang and looked away. Seconds later I came tight and this beast jumped clear out of the water. I've never seen one this size jump and certainly haven't caught one. Made my year so far...
I was out last Saturday and got 16 bass at my local lake. 7 bass was on the new floating craw beaver bait I got at http://floatworm.weebly.com/floating-craws.html it’s like a flipping bait and a jig at the same time. You can use it anyway. I was using it as a TX rig without pegging the weight so the craw can float up in an standup mode when it comes to rest on the bottom after hopping it. I.... Read More

Late May through middle June has been exciting times to be on the water for largemouth bass fishing here in the piedmont of North Carolina. Most fish have come off the beds and regained their strength just in time for the shad spawn. What do you get when you mix a hungry fish and a plethora of fresh new shad? A lot fun and explosive fishing. When the bite is on then small crank baits, spinner.... Read More
