  • fan mount plaque
I saved the head from the double beard I killed this season and made a mold from it and then cast it and hand painted it . I used the mold to cast 4 heads to use on my future cape mounts and fan plaques. This is one I used on one of my fan plaques. I am going to use one with a cape mount I done with the wings. If it turns out good I'll post of pic of it too. Thought it was a pretty neat idea,and.... Read More

Here is a picture of my son and daughter with the custom turkey call that they won from Spursuader. They are both really excited to try it out next year on our next turkey hunt. I didn't tell them that I posted their story on here so they had no idea about the contest.

Thanks very much to Mr. Murphey for making these beautiful calls and giving them away in a contest.

Here is a link to.... Read More

Made another Wing-Bone Call Holder from a Box Turtle Shell to add to my Redneck Decor. I have made several of these when I find a decent Turtle shell in the Timber. The Black you see at the Top there is actually blood stain from where a pellet hit lol...I gotta start shooting better lol.

Yasterday afternoon, a freind ( who has been hunting longer than I have been alive) stopped by the house for other reasons, but we ended up talking about my turkey.

He looked at it, messed with it and determined it was indeed a jake>

Said the hair/ feathers on the neck was one indicator. It didn't go high enough to the crown like a hens would.

He pointed out where spurs were about.... Read More

My season has been great, but hard. Was blessed with a trophy bird at Dons and tagged out reaching one of my goals, taking a nice one with my bow. Nice accomplishment, but I think I prefer the distance my shotgun allows, lol.
21 lbs
11 inch beard
1 inch spurs

Now its time to do some long overdue fishing with my fishing buddies

  • Not a super hug trophy, but he's my first!
So, on the last day of turkey season, I finally get my first turkey!

Been so close so many times. Shot at one who did a back flip and flew away over my head into the trees, should have taken a shot at two others on two different occasions, but didn't.

Spent time in the wind and rain getting wet and cold, but never got it done.

And during the times that my nephew would go with.... Read More
