My Grandaughter Gracie's favorite song is 'Fish'. She has to hear it everytime she gets in my car. She said I sure would like some of those pink fishing bobbers. So,being the accommodating Nana that I am ,I finally found her some at Dicks sporting goods.
She was thrilled and wanted to try them out in the pond at her house yesterday evening. Well, all I can say is they must work because she had.... Read More

Turkey seasons over and the fishing is great. Got to go to Lake James with my fishing buddy yesterday evening and although we went to do some night crappie fishing, suprisingly the bass were biting really good. Good thing they were I guess since there was over 50 boats in the water at the dock waiting to head out fishing a bass tournament. The water was still high from all the rain and it was.... Read More

Caught on live shad
OK, I need some help.

I'm wanting to go down to Badin and try and target some blues. I would like to know how its mostly done. I usually fish High Rock and I anchor down and fish on the bottom in about 16 ft of water but I know Badin is much, much deeper than this. We normally only catch flatheads and channels.

I'm not sure if I need to try and drift or find somewhere not so deep and.... Read More

  • Biggest bass Ive ever caught! 9 lbs Sutton Lake 5/12/2013
First Bass in North Carolina since I moved here. I had the privilege of fishing with my best friend Will Tyler whom I have known for years now. We served in the Marine Corps together and still are great friends. Luckily both started a new life here in this wonderful state. Needless to say it was a wonderful morning on Lake Sutton. This guy weighed in right around 9 pounds and I have NEVER caught.... Read More

  • Took her out only for a pic before release.
  • I have never seen a fish this chrome before.
  • Little brownie.
Went fishing on Sunday in the rain. I was really excited about the weather because i finally had an excuse to throw my big rabbit strip streamers. Big fish let their guard down in rising muddy water, you can get away with bigger tippets and sloppier presentations. Landed several fish that day but the most notable was this 22 inch torpedo that hit my swinging white streamer.Tight lines.
