Huntman & I have been huntin' all day on saturdays and haven't seen any action. This past Saturday Huntman decides to sleep in and I end up shootin' my 1st turkey. Walked in the woods this morning at breaking light loaded down with a blind, chairs, shotgun, decoys, calls, camo and ready to record it all w/ the handycam on a tripod. We went to the same woods that Huntman shot his bucks this past season. During deer season we had seen as many as 8 gobblers together - several times they were right under our climbers. I'm really excited - this is the 1st tom I've ever got on any of my cams like this.
He was on this cam 2 mornings in a row and I think he likes the cam cuz he stayed right out in front of it (hens in the background). I was really hoping to hear him gobble on one of the videos but he didn't - maybe next time. lol
I'll upload a video later, just don't have time right now.
Hope he sticks around.

1) Huntman and I have not found any sheds so far but check out this shed my buddy found. Assuming it held true on the opposite side, this would probably be the biggest 6 pointer I've ever seen. I put my size 12 boot in the pic for some size reference. This shed has 25 3/4 inches of main beam and it definitely has mass. It is heavy and measured 4 inches to 4 3/8 inches around in.... Huntman and I got to the DDC around 8:30 this morning and got home about 6:30 - had a good time walking around. Saw several folks from NCS forum and a lot of nice bucks.

Well sort of a fly - The Kansas buck died of EHD.
The 55 point buck had a composite score of 330 7/8. BTR score of 315 - largest free-ranging buck ever recorded from KS - 5th largest in the world.

Last year I asked a game warden if I could bow hunt the State owned property along the Eno River (in City limits/Durham Co.) and he said that I most certainly could. Last week a different GW says that you cannot bowhunt in the city limits in Durham County. Now I know I described the area I was talkin' about the 1st time perfectly by giving street names, etc but I'm just curious about which GW is.... Read More

I'm kinda hoping to get a new bow this spring and like the looks of the PSE Stinger 3G. Anyone have any experience with this bow? I can't afford a $1000 bow so if I can find a used 'Stinger', I think I might could swing it.

Got the cedar stand for euro #2 done and this is how it turned out. Like the walnut stand, it can hang on the wall or be used as a counter top stand.

Well this is how my 1st DIY euro turned out and I'm pretty pleased. (This is the 8pt piebald - still gotta get the hide tanned.) It was pretty cool to do this myself. Thanx for all of the advice and info that really helped me be able to get this done - better than the $125 I paid to have one done last year. If the steam from boiling will make the antlers lose some of their color can you tape off the antlers to prevent any of that?
I was thinking that maybe if I was to tape off the antlers from the base up that might prevent some of that. ???
