We've been enjoying some great fishing this week here on the DU! 300 nice trout caught so far with yesterday being the only really windy day. Big thanks to our customers including Gary Hughes & crew, Steve Ller and Abita Lumber. I fished 2 days with Gary Hughes and his friends Steve & Carl. Good Week Of Trout Fishing!
We enjoyed another good week of trout fishing but cancelled this mornings trips and may have to do the same tomorrow as the forecast is not looking good. Hopefully we'll get a reprieve from the weather as we have 6 boats schelduled to run tomorrow. As you all know the big numbers of trout will be caught in the outside waters and the winds won't allow us to get to.... Read More

We enjoyed another great trip Monday slamming the yellowmouths. Ron Bartels & Kenny Olivier from Schriever,La along with Clinton Trahan from Sunset,La. joined me on the big fish catching blazer bay. It was a great morning to do the DU as the weather cooperated and the trout were hungry. My crew couldn't have been any better as these guys can fish and our 100 fat trout by 10:00 am proved it!.... Monday morning trout slam! Steve Coon,his dad Chuck and Travis Callais joined me for a quick trip to bust up some trout. It had been a couple years since Steve's last trip and it was great to have him back slinging in hungry yellowmouths. The crew jumped all over the fish at our second stop with bunker swim baits. Everyone got in on the fun as the trio were hooking up.... Read More

A rough week of fishing as the wind won't give us a break. After slamming the trout on Monday the wind machine kicked up big time Tuesday through today. The good thing is that the trout still continue to bite with over 335 fish caught the past couple of days! Incredible non-stop action on Monday as the yellow-mouths were eating up big time. A very foggy and slick calm morning and once we located the fish it was over quick with 75 18-20 inch fish. We stopped at 75 and could easily have caught our 100 fish limit but we didn't have any more room to put them. Fishing with Tony Fontenot and I were my son.... Read More

Sunday,March 10 will be a day that Gary Rogacki and J.C. Robinson will remember for a long time. Woke up and ready to go at 5:30 a.m. from the 'Lakehouse' for another day of slamming the trout. The spring trout migration is in full swing guys! The trout are on the move and leaving their deep winter holes. The mass migration is heading south and the fish are eating up everything in their path. A fun day on the DU on Saturday with Edward Sellers rolling into the Lakehouse for a bachelor party. The guys wanted to tackle some bruiser redfish and didn't let the weather scare them off. Sounds like a great time was had by all......Really nice....
I fished the last 2 days making some quick afternoon trips . Sunday evening was the best catching 35 nice trout in less than 2 hours on LSU chubs and bunker swim baits. The trout were in 5-6 ft of water and the fish were very nice running 24-18 inches. Yesterday afternoon we duplicated where we fished on Sunday but a lot had changed in 24 hours with a terrific wind and water levels a ft or two.... Read More

Day 2 for my Michigan crew was a huge success. Tom Alquire,Joe Auffrey and Jim Powers flew down to catch redfish and that got what they came for. The guys have caught and released 50 plus fish. We only kept a couple reds during the 2 days of fishing and blackened redfish is on the menu at the 'Lakehouse' tonight. Today was another great day of whacking the bronze beasts in.... Read More

My Michigan snow birds arrived today leaving behind 2 ft of snow . They came down south to escape the harsh cold and tackle some big south Louisiana redfish. We left from the 'Lakehouse' at noon and returned at 4 pm with a wore out crew. The guys busted up the reds catching one fish after the other. Their first redfish ever and they loved it! It was a first for many things as.... Read More

A good time on the water Sunday as the trout were eating up big time. Just a beautiful day on the water! My wife Jean joined Dead-eye Chris and I for a great day on the DU! We fished from 11:00 am until 2:30 catching 62 nice trout along with a few reds and flounder. Got back in plenty of time to clean the boat and the fish before the Superbowl kickoff. LSU chubs did the job.... Read More
