  • Hey guys how old u think this guy is? Also how much u guys guess on what he'll score? I missed him this past Monday and hope he comes back during daylight again.

    November 09, 2014 at 10:59am

Hey well had a nice break from deer hunting between season going out and urban archery. Well killed me a mess a squirrel in that ferlow. So has any ya'll killed any deer this urban season yet? Well I filled my tag on a decent 7 pt on one my friends land in Pleasant Garden.

    January 16, 2013 at 10:18pm

Well seems like I keep being the bride's maid and not the bride this year. Well after putting my brother and friend Darryl on nice bucks this year my dad is the latest to take one of my nice deer. He's a main frame 8 pointer with two inche long kickers off the backside making him a 10 pointer. Wish my dad would've let him walk cause he was a young little stud of a 2 1/2 year old, but it's my dad what could I tell him. I'm 29 and he'll still kick my A** if said something out of the way to him.

    November 25, 2012 at 6:56pm

My friend Darryl shot this nice 8 on my land that showed up out of nowhere on my land. Gotta love the rut makes big bucks come out the wood work

    November 20, 2012 at 8:37am

My brother shot this big seven on my land and had several pics of him.

    November 20, 2012 at 8:33am

Well two of my hit list down and on to taxidermist to bad I didn't kill one of them. My friend Darryl bagged one my nice 8's off my land Thursday afternoon 11/15. My brother bagged his first wall mounter a nice wierd 7 pointer but he is so proud of him. He got him off my land Friday 11/16. Told my brother who is mentally challenged he just has to be patient and he'll get one and he was so excited when he did. I had his 7 and another really nice ten scouted for him on his stand. Well here's pics of them brother is in first and my friend in second. What ya'll think?

    November 18, 2012 at 6:51pm

Hey how bout this group of buck pulled of cam today?

    October 12, 2012 at 3:22pm

So look what I found on my cam from behind the house maybe this is the one my brother said he saw last year. So guys can u help me age him? I say he's in prime 4 1/2 or 5 1/2.

    October 10, 2012 at 8:12pm

What ya'll think guys? I say decent 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer. Man hope he makes it and wanna see what he looks like next year.

    October 05, 2012 at 5:06pm

Well the reason for the title is this cam is on the fence post where blind is and the blind is right against the fence. Was sitting there and up walked this little crazy looking buck. Didn't shoot but man how good is Dead Down Wind 3D cover scent. He couldn't be more than 3-5 feet from me out front window of blind.

    October 05, 2012 at 5:01pm

Hey what ya'll think shoot or not? I say he's a 2 1/2 year old and his friend a 3 1/2 year old. He's got 4 points on his good side and 2 on other side.

    September 26, 2012 at 9:14pm

So thought I would go fishing one last time before put the old rod and reel up for my bow and my guns. So here's what I caught minus a bunch of 3-4 pounders and these was the only two I keep like to take a few out but mostly only over 4 1/2 before take them out.

    August 25, 2012 at 1:58pm

Well this is got to be one the biggest spikes I've seen, guess lucky buck grows spikes even bigger.

    August 17, 2012 at 10:34pm

What ya'll think potential? I think he's look pretty good for this early but only time will tell.

    May 12, 2012 at 6:26pm

So I know everyone hunting turkey right now, but can't this year. Hey I'm getting excited about getting my license back this September, especially after get this from behind my house can't wait to see what I get on my hunting land. Sorry don't know why but youtube.com keeps making it green when I upload on there

    May 05, 2012 at 9:07pm

Hey guys can u tell me what's wrong with this video from behind my house? I Can tell somethings wrong with it and to let ya'll know date is correct. The problem isn't the green part because it's fine on my computer, but just messed up on Youtube.

    April 03, 2012 at 6:49pm

To let all my friends on here know at Elm Eugene they have alot of deer attractants. They got Deer Cane $2.00,Vita Rack $5.00,Buck Jam apple $3.50, Acorn Rage liquid $3.50, C'mere deer shake and take $7.50, C'mere deer liquid concentrate $5.00, and a lot more. They have it priced form only $2.00 to only $7.50

    March 02, 2012 at 1:42pm

Look at what a surprise I got when I checked the camera behind my house. I put the cam up when my brother who some of you know is mildly mentally handicapped. So it was hard for me to believe he had shot at several large bucks behind my house but didn't put a cam back there til deer season ended. Guess it goes to show you big chunks of land are always best, cause this is only a 5 acre chunk surround with houses and a big cow pasture.

    February 09, 2012 at 6:40pm

A ghost buck strikes again but this time he's on video but don't think it's the same buck. So guys let me know if you can tell enough about him to tell age and if you think he's a shooter?

    November 14, 2011 at 9:16pm

So let me know what ya'll think of this spike? I know it's only a spike but do ya'll think he's got potential and how old ya'll think?

A comment titled: Re: Sunday Hunting--Hell, NO!!! in response to a report titled: Sunday Hunting--Hell, NO!!!

I'm one of the people Viper was speaking of, I work 5 1/2 days a week from 7:30 to 5:30 monday thru friday and 7:30 to noon on saturdays which only gives me a half day to hunt a week. I put in alot of time and effort into that halfday. I would be over joyed to have a extra day to hunt not only to bring home some meat hopefully but also to enjoy gods creation. I believe u have to enjoy gods great creations instead of being couped up just reading the word instead of living his glory.

Hey guys want to tell u I really appreciate ur comments. As to my neighbors they would shot him, so I'm going to if giving a clear shot. I wish I could let him walk but he's a fine buck and would be happy with him. But I'm hopeing to kill the bigger nine I got coming in but hey not going to turn him down either.

A comment titled: Tuff one GT in response to a report titled: Mature Buck?

GT I don't know about u but I'd be shooting. He might just be one of these bucks that just grows mass like the one I shot last year. It was the biggest 6pts and heaviest mass I've ever seen on a buck around here. I guess he would've been a 6pt the rest of his life and just added more and more mass. He was aged at 5 1/2 years old by my taxidermist friend and live weighed 245 lbs.

A comment titled: My Guess in response to a report titled: Lets Age this Buck

I would say he is 3 1/2 years old based on he starting to get a belly but is still over all trim

    October 19, 2013 at 3:27pm

How bout not this past season but the season before my brother hit three deer at once above our house with his truck. So two of them only had broken legs and where still pretty much alive. Well we did like we was supposed to and called sheriffs deptartment and waited for a hour and a half. Well forgot to tell this earlier but was about a week or two after deer season went out. So after waiting that long we call to make sure they was on the way becuase we wasn't leaving til they got there for three reasons. One the one deer keep getting up and getting back in middle of road, two they was still alive and it would be unethical to leave them suffering, and three we know alot of people living around us that would love the meat cause without it they would go hungry. Well they tell us to just leave it the deputy be there within another hour or so. Well i decide to call wildlife and ask can i go ahead and disbatch them and they told me only if I wanted a fine and a court date. So I had to wait another hour and then the deputy told me to shot it anyways. Well it's a load of BS when it comes to the laws about this. Oh by the way i asked a game warden after the fact and he said he would have had to charge me $200 in fines plus loss my license for a year for killing deer out of season.

A comment titled: Well get a few in response to a report titled: Who will bring heads to the Dixie Deer Classic?

Well We'll be taking 3 with us but not finished mounts just the horns. Nothing huge but good respectable deer for Randolph County probaly 110's to maybe 130's deer depending on deductions.

A comment titled: GT in response to a report titled: Hey Guys look what I found

Well he left me with 4 videos of his self. I think either him or the smaller 8 ran the big wide 4 off from back there but I ain't complaining. That nice 6 I got on my other land with nice 4 on one side and 2 with a brow tine has been flirting with me to much. If he keeps playing he's going to meet ol' rage and carbon express soon. I trying to keep from shooting him but he keeps giving me such a good show and tempting me. So GT and Viper brought any blood yet?

    October 10, 2012 at 8:57pm
A comment titled: Viper and GT in response to a report titled: Hey Guys look what I found

Viper I don't think he is cause he's a lot taller and wider than the one got pics of the other day. The one got pics of is still coming in but I decide to switch cam to video after they changed patterns on me. Yeah GT there's a apple sauce jar, fresh apples, peanut butter and corn where he's at but he's mostly eating the apples and apple sauce. I know a lot of stuff but hey I believe deer like people have different likes and dislikes. He's dead if he shows up but he's little friend will be allowed to walk. I was guessing 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 cause he's got a saggy belly and looks to be 200 pounds or more.

A comment titled: Diane in response to a report titled: First Deer with Bow

Hey Diane I to hate gutting them so I started cleaning them without gutting them. The only time I gut one is if it is super big doe or big buck cause there's really not much inner tenderlions on most deer and unless u eat liver and heart that's all the meat u lose. Just a thought on how I over came gutting them.

A comment titled: GT in response to a report titled: To close for comfort

Yeah it's crazy with activity and it's freaking awesome being back out there. I shot 2 does and a button buck in there the other day. Button was by mistake and hated it when walked up on him. I just got tired of sitting there watching these 12 does come in and eat all my corn. So I decide to shoot a few before got to close to rut, plus one of my friends got laid off and need some food. That tree over on far side of field there's a break in the fence from one field to the other and they come thru there like clock work every morning 7-9 in morning and 6:30-7:30 of afternoon. There's a pond from the direction he came from they drink out of.

A comment titled: DCB in response to a report titled: big 6 and friend

Thanks for the cheers DCB, all depends on when I get the shot. If it's with my bow then they are dead meat because of the difficulty with a bow. Muzzleloader or gun the 6 pointers safe but the other might not be need a better look at him before I decide. The 6 pointer in the front looks like a solid 2 1/2 year old and his friend looks 3 1/2 to me. So what u judge their ages at?

A comment titled: Hey GT forgot somethings in response to a report titled: Better Quality deer

GT you forgot one of the most important parts to the reason this want for NC.
1.One of the biggest problems is out West where he's talking people are less densely populated and also people also own larger tracts of land.
2.They also have a lot more agriculture.
3.Don't let us forget agriculture mean better browse.
4.Better browse mean better nutrition and better nutrition equals better antler growth.
5.Also in NC if you have land to hunt a lot of people with pull your lease if you don't kill the deer.
6.If he looks he can see where the trophy counties are and if he pays attention they are the more rural and agricultural counties in the state.
7.NC's buck to doe ratio in most counties are out of control
8.I do believe people do need to stop shooting young bucks but that's their choice. They have to live with it not reaching it's potential.
So that's some of the reason I can conclude. Like GT these are my opinions and I don't claim to be a wildlife expert. So North Carolina sportsman alum let me know what ya'll think.

A comment titled: GT in response to a report titled: Out with 1 season, Planning on Next...4 Young Bucks hitting the Trophy Rock

Hey Tom don't get disgusted becuase remember deer get smarter with age. The ones that survived last year will likely go there less and less as the seasons go on. Plus I don't know if it's like here or not but it's hard finding places to hunt. Here the people either don't like hunting period, already allow someone else to hunt, or want u to pay a arm and a leg to hunt. Also to the question someone asked about uploading videos, I upload from SD card to computer to youtube.

    May 16, 2012 at 4:04pm

Nice Tom yours came out better, for some reason everytime I put on youtube it has a green streak through it. You see the latest form behind the house? I know I need to get off my butt and switch cards at the big woods.
