OUTER BANKS FISHING REPORT
The surf fishing on the Outer Banks is still slow with only a few dog sharks and skates being caught. The good news is that the water has warmed up to 54 degrees as of Wednesday at Ocracoke Island and puppy drum are being caught on lures and cut bait.

The National Park Service started putting up signs on Wednesday closing the bird nesting areas so visitors need to be on the lookout for closed areas which could be anywhere on the Outer Banks.

The offshore boats out of Hatteras Inlet report the bluefin tuna fishing is red hot along with catches of yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, albacore and tile fish.

The offshore boats out of Oregon Inlet report good catches of bluefin tuna up to 225 pounds(Photo # 1) along with some blackfin tuna. The inshore boats report good striper fishing.(Photo # 2) Fishing should continue to improve as the water warms up and warmer weather is forecast for the rest of this week along with some showers.
