Gerald Beck of Lexington captured the Wal-Mart BFL Savannah River Division bass tournament at Lake Russell, Ga., during March.

Lexington’s Gerald Beck won the March 25 Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Savannah River Division tournament at Lake Russell, Ga., with 15 pounds, 9 ounces of bass and received $4,938.

Beck also took the big-fish award of $745 with a 5-pound, 11-ounce bass.

Eric Jeter of Asheville placed fourth with 13-02 and received $1,152.

In the Co-angler Division, Brad Poole of Hendersonville ranked second with 11-05 that paid $1,235. Jimmy Penland of Leicsester placed fourth with 9-06 and took home $576.

Wally Szuba of Cary won the March 25 Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League N.C. Division event at Jordan Lake with 25-03 and banked $4,279.

Other Tar Heels in the money were John Wagner Jr, of Archdale, second, with 16-10 for $2,140; Marcus Tucker of Winston-Salem, third, with 15-04 for $1,426; Ramon Stockham of Greensboro, fourth, with 13-01 for $998; and Greg Sapp of Pleasant Garden, fifth, with 12-03 for $856.

Tucker captured the big-fish prize of $605 with an 8-pound, 9-ounce bass.

Among the co-anglers, Dan Glosson of Rougemont placed second with 15-03 and earned $!,070; Fred Reid of Granite Falls ranked third with 10-15 and collected $712; Joseph Butler of Charlotte finished fourth with 10-09 and won $499; and Jamie Denison of Winston-Salem placed fifth with 9-09 and banked $428.

David Cook of Clemmons had the big fish of the day with a 9-pound bass worth $302.

Preston Clark of Palatka, Fla., set a new four-day total poundage BASS record with 115-15 at the March 30-April 2 Santee-Cooper Showdown at Santee Cooper, S.C.

The haul paid $100,000.

Kevin Langill of Terrell placed 39th with 57-07 and earned $10,000.

In the Co-angler Division, Jason Wilson of Bessemer City finished 10th with 23-00 for $1,600; Pat Golden of High Point ranked 15th with 19-14; and Gary Abernathy of Skyland placed 19th with 18-07. Golden and Abernathy each received $1,000.

Todd Harris of Pfafftown won the big-bass award of $935 with a 6-pound, 3-ounce bass in the Boaters Division at the April 1 Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division tournament at Smith Mountain Lake, Va.

A. E. Red Moore of Graham placed 44th and Michael Goodman of Nebo finished 50th at the April 6-8 Southern Bassmaster Tour event at Santee Cooper, S.C. Each received $1,335.

Cramerton’s Larry Pearson won the April 8 Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League South Carolina Division event at Lake Hartwell, S.C., with 20 pounds, 11 ounces, good enough for $4,199.

Pearson also took the big-fish prize of $585 with a 7-pound, 12-ounce bass and the Ranger Cup award worth $1,000.

Patrick Tierney of Denver finished third with 18-01 and received $980.

Samuel Smith of Lexington won the Co-Angler Division with 13-06 and banked $2,100. Brandon Gray of Bullock placed fifth among the co-anglers with 11-11 and won $420.

Raeford’s Calvin Jones took the big-fish award of $292 with a 5-pound, 12-ounce bass.

Bruce Hoadley of Fuquay Varina ranked second at the April 8 Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League tournament at Lake Gaston with 17-05 and collected $3,000. Flash Butts of Roanoke Rapids captured the third-place prize of $2,000 with 17-02. Coming in fourth was Jimmy Hayes of Fayetteville with 16-05 that paid $1,400.

Phillip Sykes Jr. of Enfield tied for the big-bass award with a 6-pound, 12 -ounce fish and took home a check for $500.

Gerry Burchfield of Thomasville won the Co-angler Division with a catch of 16-07 and earned $3,000. Brad Pegram of Henderson placed fifth with 8-07 and earned $600.

Frank Buccialia Jr. of Littleton collected $500 as the co-angler big-bass award winner with a 5-pound, 6-ounce bass.

Brent Long of Catawba and Ricky Shumpert of Lexington, S.C., place fifth at the April 14-15 Stratos Boat Owners Tournament at Santee Cooper, S.C. They had a two-day total of 27-07 and shared $839.

Bryan Thrift of Shelby and Andy Montgomery finished 10th. Their two-day catch of 20-14 paid $338.

Tammy Richardson of Amity, Ark., won the April 20-22 Mercury Marine Women’s Bassmaster Tour inaugral event at Neely Henry Lake, Ala., with a three-day catch of 33-03 and received a Triton boat and Mercury Marine package worth $50,000.

Bonnie Ward of Snohomish, Wash., took the Co-angler Division with 18-00 and received a Triton boat and Mercury rig valued at $25,000.

Guy Eaker of Cherryville placed 46th at the April 20-22 Bassmaster Elite Series Southern Challenge at Lake Guntersville, Ala. Eaker caught 33-13 and received $10,000.
